The District Court of Norton County is within the 17th Judicial District. This district includes the counties of Decatur, Graham, Norton, Phillips, Smith and Osborne.  Norton County District Court is located on the 3rd Floor of the Norton County Courthouse in Norton, Kansas. 

The Clerk of the District Court's office is the public's link to the functions and services provided by the court. We are customer service oriented and here to assist you with your Court business in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. However, there are restrictions set by Kansas law that prohibits Court Staff from releasing certain information. Communications with court staff are not privileged or confidential.

Record Requests and Copy Fees

1. The Office of Judicial Administration offers an Online Portal to allow citizens to search certain public records from any computer with internet connection. 

2. Patrons can use the Public Access Terminal, located in the Office of the Clerk of the District Court, to search public records on their own. There is no fee for searching records on the Public Access Terminal, however, there is a $0.25 per page fee for any printed documents. 

3. Requests for records can be filed with the Clerk of the District Court by fax, mail, or brought into the office. Requests must be specific and include as much information as possible, including which specific documents you are requesting and a case number, if possible. Once the request is received, the Clerk's Office has three business days to respond. When you request is processed and the records are found, you will be contact with the total cost for documents you are requesting. Once payment is received, the documents can be sent to you. 

Copy Fees

There is a fee of $0.25 per page for any printed documents.   For larger requests, a $5.00 research fee may be assessed. 

Certification Fee

The fee for the Clerk to certify a document is $1.00 per certification.
